Akiko Ijichi's first monograph is a collection of 90 of her works depicting melancholic girls. Using traditional techniques, Ijichi gives her girls modern sensibilities as they armor themselves with animal disguises, envelope themselves in delicate flowers, and look for meaning in detached butterfly wings.
