Shipping Information & Policies

General:

• Packages are shipped with the return address "AkaTako.net". I do not send packing slips. If you purchase items as a gift and would like to include a note, please include it in your order comments.
• Items are usually shipped by US postal mail. If you would like other options please email me before you place your order.
• I put serious effort into the packaging to ensure your items arrive safely - even if the post office abuses them.

Rates:

• Shipping charges are calculated during checkout. All items ship from Brooklyn, NY, USA. You can see how much the shipping will be before you have to enter any payment information. Add the items you want to your cart, select your country and state in "Estimated shipping cost", click "Calculate". You will see all the available options to ship your order.
• US rates start at $3 for regular and $5.50 for priority.
• International rates start at $4 for regular and $38 for priority.

Shipping Speed/Options:

• In the US, "regular mail" is usually shipped by media mail or first class with delivery confirmation and takes 2-10 days depending on your location. "Priority mail" includes delivery confirmation and usually takes 2-3 days.
• Outside of the US, "regular mail" is first class air mail with no tracking and is not insurable. If the package is lost or damaged there is nothing that can be done. It usually takes 10 business days but up to 21 (a full month) in rare cases. "Priority mail" includes tracking so that lost packages can be found and it usually takes 6-10 business days but this is not guaranteed. Only insured packages can be replaced or refunded if damaged or lost.
• Selected countries (like Italy) only have the option of priority mail with tracking and priority mail with tracking and insurance.
• After a certain dollar amount regular mail is no longer an option for any countries (US included).

Addresses:

• You have the option to enter separate billing and shipping addresses. The billing address is passed to Authorize.net to complete your order but I will always ship to the shipping address listed in your order on AkaTako.net - please put a note in the order comment if you have any concerns.
• If your country is not shown in the check out form, please email me so I can add it for you.
