Takato Yamamoto combines illustration techniques with the flat and delicate touch of ukiyo-e and nihonga to depict the decadence and aestheticism of beautiful boys and girls. This new tall format book lets you experience his artwork process and try it out for yourself!
First he draws a rough sketch, then creates a preliminary sketch and covers the entire back side of paper with pencil. He then places the sketch on top of fresh paper and traces the lines of the sketch to transfer the outline. For the actual work, he draws lines with a face brush and pen, and colors them with Liquitex acrylic paints to complete it. You can trace the sketches in the book and paint it as you wish!
Book includes two versions of black and white sketches of about 30 artworks. Each with descriptive text by Takato Yamamoto in both Japanese and English. Photos of Takato Yamamoto, his atelier, inspirations, and paintings in progress. Full color images of 24 finished artworks. Binding is exposed to allow the book to lay nice and flat.
Book is hand SIGNED by the artist.
