After several people have said the Tama mini posters look better in person and that the online images don't do them justice, I've added two additional zoomed in detail images for EACH poster. You can really see the quality and the incredible colors in the close ups. Click any thumbnails below to go to that poster and see the new images full size.

Aaaaaw.... I just want to hug them and tell them it's going to be ok. Even if it's not true. Kenichi Koyama paints melancholic girls who are prone to self injury - especially with scissors. Not a single boy to be found in the book, only girls hanging out with other sad girls. In the hospital, at the piano, at school desks, in bed, everywhere.
Very nicely written review of "Melancholy Girls" by Trevor Brown on his blog.
Two gorgeous ORIGINAL paintings by Hikari Shimoda are now available on AkaTako. They are "Funeral of Character" and "Rabbit Boy" and each captures Hikari's skill at making cute things slightly unnerving.

The paintings' effect is even more powerful in person! I hope to continue bringing you more works by this up-and-coming Japanese artist.
